SK and Cloud9 have won their first best-of-three matches against MVP PK and Heroic, respectively, in the Swiss stage at StarSeries i-League Season 4. The game between Cloud9 and HEROIC kicked off on Overpass where the North Americans were on the CT-side in the first half. Cloud9 picked up the first four rounds and Jakob "JUGi" Hansens 1vs2 clutch in the fifth round put HEROIC on the board (4-1). Jake "Stewie2K" Yip & company had an indomitable defense and secured ten rounds in a row to lead 14-1 at halftime. Cloud9 planted the bomb in the second half pistol round after Tarik "tarik" Celiks opening kill and had a successful post-plant to make it 15-1. They closed it out immediately, winning the first map 16-1. The second map was Inferno where HEROIC were on the T-side to start things off. tarik got a double kill in a 2vs3 post-plant in the pistol round to make it 1-0 for Cloud9. After avoiding an anti-force loss in the second round by winning a 3vs5, Cloud9 fell to Andreas "MODDII" Fridhs Deagle kills as HEROIC trailed 2-1. Cloud9 led the game 7-2 and in control until JUGi clutched a 1vs4 to give HEROIC their third round. The Danes got three more rounds in the half and trailed 9-6 at halftime. HEROIC got the first two rounds in the second half but they lost a 5vs3 and couldnt tie up the game (10-8). Then, William "RUSH" Wierzba clutched a 1vs4 to make it 11-8 but HEROIC got six CT-side rounds in a row to lead 14-11. In the other best-of-three game, SK took on MVP PK. On Inferno, the T-sided Brazilians won a 2vs3 and went on to make it 4-0 with anti-eco and first weapon round victories. The Korean squad managed to stop SK in three rounds to trail 5-3 but Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's team took off and got to ten rounds before halftime (10-5). SK continued their good performance on the CT-side and won the pistol round with Fernando "fer" Alvarenga's double kill. fer got at least two kills in each of the following three rounds as SK made it 14-5. Epitacio "TACO" de Melo & co. closed out the first map with a 16-5 final scoreline. Cobblestone kicked off with MVP PK over on the T-side. Min-Seok "zeff" Park got an entry kill to pave the way for a pistol round victory. After making it 3-0, the Koreans lost the first weapon round but responded in the fifth round to lead 4-1. With the momentum, MVP PK were able to extend their lead to 9-3 but SK got the last three rounds of the half to make it 9-6. Ricardo "boltz" Prass picked up a marvelous quad kill in the second half pistol round and Marcelo "coldzera" David topped it off with his own quad kill in the following anti-eco round. Although MVP PK won the first weapon round and led 10-9, that would be the last round they win.
